The Town is a location on Carnate Island. Originally a Puritan village called Goodsmouth, this town is the home of many corrections officers working at Abbott State Penitentiary and some of their families.
Events of The Suffering[]
Torque hears for the first time of the town in-game during Chapter 4, as Consuela Alvarez is heard on the radio contacting the prison in search of her husband. Alvarez mentions a fire in the woods around the town and that she is afraid it might be getting closer.
Later, in Chapter 19, as Torque joins Ernesto, he tells Torque about his family in the town and in the next chapter Ernesto sees the town on fire and heads off in its direction, worried about his family. However, Torque cannot join him as Infernas appear and block his path.
Trivia[]
- It is possible in Chapter 20 to find a secret way of entering the town, although it's made clear by the game that you are not supposed to reach it.
