Gonzo Gun

The Gonzo Gun is a secret weapon found rather late in the game that can also be unlocked via built-in cheats in The Suffering: Ties That Bind. The Gonzo Gun, quite literally, resembles a chicken. It has the same ammo capacity as the Dual Revolvers and fires, of all things, eggs that will completely decimate any non-captain malefactors it hits. A powerful weapon, but is ostensibly disturbing in appearance and operation.

Location

Torque can find this in the sub basement. Starting from the solitary section to the northeast, and heading west, then south into the hall that leads to the south solitary area, he can drag the large metal box (that was blocking the south door) into the narrow end of the hall. Once the box is in the correct spot, Torque is able to use it to climb upon. From atop the box, a place in the stone wall that has been broken out is able to be climbed into. This appears to be a hiding place for COs to have a smoke as there is a dead CO sitting in a chair, a lit cigarette in an ashtray on the floor next to him, a pack of cigarettes, and a "Zippo" style lighter.

Amongst the contraband are also useful items such as ammo. As well as the Gonzo Gun. What the CO was doing with a chicken that fires deadly eggs upon squeezing is certainly a mystery.

This room is accessible the first time (early in the game) Torque traverses the basement, however the Gonzo gun is not present. (Visiting this room prior to Surfacing may make the Gonzo gun unavailable later.)

Trivia

The Gonzo Gun is named for The Muppets recurring character Gonzo, whom has a running gag throughout the series where he falls in love with hens.
